HOW TO MAKE TEXT AND IMAGE GLOW:
Okay, this tutourial works for text AND images.
First, open up gimp. Then make a new image. Make your background and stuff, then type in some text or put on an image.
Right click on the image/text and then go to layers>>alpha to selection. If you have done it correct, then the image/text should be outlined in a dotted line.
Next, right click again. Go to selection/select>>grow. Then a box should pop up. Experiment with diffrent glows if you want, if you don't like one, just click Ctrl. Z. After you have found the perfect size glow, bucket fill inside the dotted line you made. Then go to layers>>new layer. Name it something like "Glow" or "Text glow," so you can keep track of the layers.
Now, press ctrl and L at the same time, and a box should pop up. Drag the layer you just made under the one below it. Then click the litle red X to the box.
Now, for the final part, go to Filters>>tileable blur. Make sure the little thing is at 0.5. Then click OK. Wait a few seconds, and TA DA! You will have a nice glow around your text or image!
